{eat your veggies!}

Something most mom's and dad's say to their children right? Well since our son has no problem eating his veggies dad decided to boss around Buddy instead....Little did he know that Buddy eats his veggies too!

{buddy's new friend}

So I got home from taking Wyatt to school one morning (5/1) and found Buddy at the back yard side of the driveway gate jumping around in his playful way. Now he does some strange things but for the life of me I could not figure out what on earth he was trying to pounce (yes pounce, my dog thinks he's a cat some days). Then as I got out of the car and started to walk up to the gate this is what I found.....

A turtle!!! How odd is that?!! The stray turtle was a water turtle and is now happily swimming in a near by lake thanks to the neighbor who was on his way out fishing!

{catch up}

Alright everyone bare with me while I play catch up on the next few blogs. Eventually I will get the hang of keeping up to date with this blogging thing!

{Ewwww!!}

So as most of my friends and family already know I do like the city of Grand Terrace and it's close community. And as some of you also know the draw back to living here in a home (especially one with a huge yard like ours) is a tiny or rather large (about 3 plus inches) visitor. Field roaches! Eww!! I know. The good thing is they live outside and don't start heading for cooler temperatures until the summer time...unfortunately those cooler temperatures are in my kitchen, bathroom and anywhere else they can get.

Well Apparently I am just so "Cool" because last night about 10pm when I flicked my knee because it tickled (not exactly the right word...) one of our little visitors fell down out of my pajama pant leg!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I jumped on top of the dinning table, stripped down and proceeded to throw the worlds biggest adult tantrum complete with blaming my husband for the cities bug problem!!! After he was able to calm me down by squeezing me tightly to avoid the swinging arms due to his simple words "calm down" (NOTE TO MEN: DO NOT TELL YOUR WIFE TO "CALM DOWN" AFTER A BIG ROACH JUST FELL OUT OF HER PANTS!!!!!) he brought me some clean clothes sprayed the entire house with bug spray then knelt down and asked heavenly father to keep everything "unwanted" out of our home and our (my) creeped out minds. Then after threatening to go live with my mother in law (because mom has a cricket problem) I made him strip down the bed and check it before I climbed in and somehow I actually managed to fall asleep!!!

It was an eventful night! It still creeps me out but I thought the rest of you could use a good laugh this morning!

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

{loving & protective}

So my dog buddy just did the cutest thing! If I hadn't had my hands full of pins and fabric I would have grabbed my camera and gotten a picture but it was over so fast I didn't get it.

I was sitting on the living room floor pinning some fabric pieces and a baby on the TV started crying. Not that fake TV kind of cry, it sounded real.....Buddy (our big dog) came hurrying out from the other room and stared at the TV. He did his little head twist thing a time or two trying to figure out why there wasn't a real baby then he sat down and stared at it until the crying stopped. It was so cute! I've seen him with 3 month and older children and he's very playful yet gentle with them but to see him so concerned about a crying baby was the most heart warming thing I've seen all week! He's already so gentle with my tummy (he won't even give me hugs anymore and I'm the one that taught him that trick)....he will be such a great protector for James! I can't wait until he is here and the whole family, mom, dad, Wyatt and Buddy can enjoy his company!!

{a day to celebrate}

Today, April 6th, is quite an eventful day for church history. It is definitely a day to reflect in gratitude for the many events of this day! Especially a certain birthday!! =)

Also in our little family we've added a baptism celebration to this already happy day! Tyler was baptized on April 6th, 2007. Two years ago he made a choice to make a commitment in his life has blessed his family greatly. As we grow, with little James on the way, we can only begin to count the ways Tyler's decision to make his life an eternal one has blessed each of us individually as well as a family unit. We are so proud of the man he always was and the priesthood holder he has become! The lord has blessed our home in so many ways and we are grateful for everyone of them!

So today we say...Happy Life Changing Day Tyler! We love you so much!
